pictures help

That's the Chicago River. I don't live in Chicago or anywhere near it, but I like the city, and didn't know what else to put there.

I'm currently listening to big band music and having a beer. I've been sort of bored today, but that was only after I ate (which made me lethargic). Before that I was reading a book (coincidentally named The Book) that my friend Christopher gave me for my birthday. It's a philosophy/religion wax but I like it. The author, Alan Watts, has some really interesting viewpoints on humankind's existence and "crisis" if you will, in the universe. I obviously can't recount the more enlightening and specific parts because I've only read about 30 pages and was a little distracted by being outdoors on such a nice day.

Normally I don't mind throwing back a couple before the sun's gone down but that's usually when I'm with other people instead of typing out my mundane afternoon.

I'll be visiting my sister and brother in-law for New Year's Eve. Last year I attended New Tear's Eve (Tears'?) which was a celebration of Tears for Fears' new album, Everybody Loves A Happy Ending.

UPDATE: Portable stereo systems that take something like eight C cell batteries are inconvenient.
